Bay of Palma (1764)
Uncolored engraved chart with scale published in Marseille in 1764 and made by Joseph Roux (1735-1793), a hydrographer from Marseille, map publisher and manufacturer of navigating instruments. King of France granted him permission to be called “Hidrographe du Roy”. The map shows Almeria, Adera, Roqueta and Maladra. The bay of Palma is located in the south-west of the Balearic Island of Majorca. Palma de Majorca's harbour is located on the northern shores. The map shows the walled city of Palma, the Fortress of San Carlos at the entrance of the bay and the Bellver Castle.
