Map printed in Edinburgh in 1782 and made by geographer Thomas Kitchin (1719-1784). Kitchin Mapmaker, engraver, and Hydrographer to George III. Apprenticed to Emanuel Bowen in 1732, married his daughter in 1739, worked independently from 1741. Worked with Thomas Jeffreys and many others (including his son, Thomas Bowen, who continued the business after his father's death) to
produce many atlases.
